2. Constable Barry MacDonald, London Police
- Discussed Nova Sewing Centre break in
RE: Prevention:
- Can do an audit of your property provide why a person looking to commit crime might go after you.
- If enough interest, can coordinate a group presentation.

3. Skylar Franke, Ward 11 City Councillor
- Wortley Road traffic counter stats from May 27th, 2024. (5796 cars traveled in a day)
- Ward boundary review underway & could split Old South. Learn more and provide feedback here: Preliminary options.
- City is reviewing special events support. More info
- There is a $500 neighbourhood events fund
4. Halloween in the Village (Laurie Tomé, hitv.ca)
- More Safety & Security: More Police & St. John’s Ambulance
- Thank you sponsors for your support! The event couldn’t happen without you.
- Event is community run, not for profit and benefits London’s Children’s Hospital.
5. Old South Community Organization Update (Nicole Phillips)
(In addition to OSCO’s partnership with Halloween in the Village…)
- Dec 7th Christmas in the Village (event Facebook page)
- Nov 30th OSCO Xmas tree sales start at Independent Grocer.
- SOHO neighbourhood community organization coming together. 1st market on Saturday that was well attended.
- OSCO Thames pool survey has 600+ responses from Old South. (Survey link) Ideas for where to make a facility for a new pool coming in 2025.
6. Recap on Business Mixer & World Car Free Day
Mixer:
- Had the most people attending to date
- Thanks to Wortley Roadhouse for hosting.
- Next Mixer will be at Highland Country Club Thu Feb 13th 4:30-6pm.
Car Free Day (Marion Robinson & David Stanford):
- Instead of a party, want consideration for living in a section of the community without cars.
- Thanks to all Old South businesses involved in the event.
