Wortley Fire Affecting Sha Choix, A Village Tail & Westland Gallery

All of us with the OSBA are deeply saddened by the fire that broke out early this morning affecting Sha Choix, Westland Gallery, and A Village Tail in Wortley Village. We are unaware of the extent of the damage, and are relieved that no injuries have been reported.
Our hearts go out to these cherished establishments that contribute so much to the vibrancy of our community. The Old South Business Association stands ready to support them during this challenging time. Thank you to the incredible London Fire Department who worked hard to ensure everyone’s safety.

“Westlands Gallery is closed today, Thursday November 28th, due to a fire next door. We are thankful to hear that everyone is okay. Thank you to the London Fire Department for acting quickly to get the fire under control. The Westland Gallery building is okay, and we will be posting updates to our social media when the Square Foot Show reopens.”

“We do not know the extent of the damage just yet but will keep everyone updated as we find out and can hopefully reopen soon 💔🐾

“I’m thankful to be part of this village. Everyone’s so supportive and helpful. We are hoping to get access to the building this afternoon so we can assess the situation.
The apartment above Sha Choix got on fire last night around 1.00am.
It is completely burnt out. There’s tremendous damage to our store caused by water and smoke. We are hoping to get an update from the inspector this afternoon. It doesn’t look good - luckily no one got hurt. We are devastated💔”
