AWARD WINNERS SELECTION PROCESS

To determine the award winners, we will follow a structured process to ensure fairness and community involvement:

  • Nominations:

    • We will collect nominations from the general public and the Old South business community via www.OldSouthBA.com/nominations until November 1st.

    • Nominations will be promoted through social media and by direct email blasts to our database of Old South businesses.

  • Input Criteria:

    • The nomination process asks nominators to explain why their chosen business or individual deserves recognition, highlighting their meaningful contributions and impact on the community.

  • Selection Process:

    • Winners will be determined based on both the number of nominations and the quality of the reasons provided.

  • Reviewing Committee:

    • Nominations will be reviewed from November 4th through 8th by representatives from the Boards of Directors of both the OSBA and the Old South Community Organization to ensure a fair and balanced selection process.

    • Independent board members from each organization will cast individual votes based on the established selection criteria. The winners in each category will be determined by the total votes from the combined boards.

    • If an OSCO or OSBA board member has any direct or indirect connection to a business that is nominated, they will be excluded from voting on that category to ensure the integrity and impartiality of the process. This measure helps prevent any potential conflicts of interest and reinforces the fairness of the selection process, ensuring that all nominees are judged objectively.

This process ensures that winners reflect the true spirit of Old South, chosen by the community.
